BLM protein subcellular localization
LOCATE classifies the BLM protein as soluble and non-secreted protein. The BLM protein is 159 KDa and there is no transmembrane domain that can be predicted on the BLM protein sequence. Also, LOCATE recognized that BLM is localized to nucleus and nucleolus.
Analysis: The result that I got from LOCATE agreed with that of ScanProsite which showed a nuclear localization signal (NLS) is located on the C-terminal of the BLM protein. Hence, the NLS specifies the targetting of the BLM to the nucleus after its synthesis.
